Shane has seven years experience in commercial management with a comprehensive service provider working in the signalling, telecommunications, electrical and civil engineering markets within the rail, metro, highways and utilities sectors throughout the UK.  He also had over ten years experience in quantity surveying, procurement and legal management for a main contracting building company in Ireland.  

Since 2009 he is the Commercial Manager of Kelly Integrated Transport Services where he controls all commercial aspects on all projects (currently 24r) and reports these to the Managing Director.  He established processes to help enable the company to grow turnover from£15M to a projected £35M in 2016  He also put in place a new bespoke commercial database system to improve internal procedures to deal more effectively with all commercial management issues.

For ten years Shane was the Legal & Procurement Manager of Pierse Contracting Limited in Dublin.  He controlled all contract documents on all projects and negotiated amendments to same when necessary and dealt with legal queries and reported to the Board of Directors on a regular basis. He also developed a new Centralised Sub-contractor Procurement Department based in Head Office to control and manage the appointment of sub-contractors on all major commercial and residential projects carried out by the company within Ireland.  This was a new and innovative departure fro the company as all sub-contractor procurement was previously carried out by the site-based Project Surveyors.
